DON'T. OPEN. THAT. DOOR. DUMMY!
film score cue for String Orchestra
by W. Brent Sawyer
dedicated to Sam Irvin
approx. length: 4:10 minutes
I wrote this little piece in honor of my friend, film director, and horror fan, Sam Irvin. I am a huge horror film fan. I love it all from the early 50s Drive-in fare, the late 60s Zombie beginnings, the shlock films of the 70s, the slashers flicks of the 80s, the pchyocologrical thrillers of the 90s, And all the rest.
Although I have never written a score for a horror film - YET! I adore horror film music. I wanted to have some fun for the Halloween season that is upon us and wrote this piece that could easily be underscore for some creepy scene. And also honor Sam Irvin with this piece I wrote for him.
The title is ME yelling at the movie screen to the stupid person in the movie that always has to go explore what the weird sound was, or going down to the basement, or exploring that creepy house in the middle of the night, or... well, you get the picture!
I challenge you to listen to this in a very dark room, close your eyes and let your imagination do the rest.
